If you’re dealing with alopecia or any kind of hair loss, finding something that actually feels good to wear can make a bigger difference than you’d expect.
After losing my mum caused me to lose my hair, too. That first small bald patch expanded during my teens, getting harder and harder to hide. Until eventually all my curls were gone.
I tried everything to regrow my hair, hide my patches, or replace my curls. Injections, shampoos, treatments, oils, potions, sprays, wigs. You name it, I’ve tried it all. And more.
What did was finding something I actually felt comfortable wearing, something that felt like me, even if it wasn’t my own hair.
There are loads of options out there, wigs, hats, and different types of headscarves, tied, pretied.
I tried a lot of them and none of them was quite right. Either too itchy, too hot, not my style or clearly not made by someone who knew what being bald was like.
In the end I started making my own simple, soft headscarves that stay on and feel good to wear.
You deserve it!
I made my happy headscarves because I couldn’t find anything that actually worked for me.
If you’re dealing with hair loss, I hope they help you feel a bit more like yourself again.
